"Meeting held at Ashton Lodge: 15. 5. 36<br/>     H. M. Wallis in the Chair<br/> 1. Minutes of last read and approved<br/> 5. A General Knowledge then occupied us very happily for the rest of the evening. H. R. Smith and C. E. Stansfield, the Examiners, proved too cunning for most of us. But the ladies claimed with some show of reason that the absence of a female Examiner placed them at a disadvantage."
