7. The Subject of Mary Webb"s work was then taken<br/>
Mrs Burrow read 4 short Poems Snowdrop Time<br/>
Hawthorn Berry<br/>
The Poplar Tree<br/>
The Neighbours Children<br/>
Mrs R. Wallis read from the House in Dormer Forest<br/>
Miss E. C. Stevens read from the Golden Arrow<br/>
After refreshments had been taken<br/>
H. M. Wallis read from the Golden Arrow<br/>
H. R. Smith read Blessed are the Meek<br/>
in conclusion H. M. Wallis gave us a slight appreciation of Mary Webbs work which was
followed by discussion in
which Mary Webb was compared with such writers as Sheila Kaye[-]Smith Geo. Elliott &
Thomas Hardy but very
especially the latter."</ptr>
