[...] After dinner [attended by several guests] [...] Mr. Sommer came in in [...] his usual wild hurried manner [...] consented to play a Sonata of Beethoven"s [...] Then after inveighing against everything in Moscow, pavement, lights, houses & the women he caught up his hat and departed. to our great relief. They played at the Cat & the Mouse and I read Robertson."
